Last year I’ve posted about the Aston Martin DBS that was used in the James Bond movie, Casino Royale. This year Aston Martin will unveil the new Aston Martin DBS at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on 16 August 2007.
The Aston Martin DBS will be powered by a 6.0-liter V12 engine and is a race-oriented, two-seater supercar with aerodynamically designed and equipped with the very latest in performance technology. The engine is hand-assembled at Aston Martin’s engine facility in Cologne, Germany.
There will be a few number of enhancements to increase the performance for the new DBS which include a ‘by-pass’ engine air intake port that opens above 5500 rpm to allow more air into the engine. The inlet ports are also re-profiled to improve airflow into the combustion chamber. With a compression ratio of 10.9:1, the DBS delivers 510 bhp at 6500 rpm.
The DBS is the first production Aston Martin to make extensive use of ultra-light carbon-fiber body panels.
The Aston Martin DBS will be available on the first quarter of 2008 and the actual price will be revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
