At the Comic-Con in San Diego, Chevrolet presented the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro TRANSFORMERS Special Edition.
The 2010 Camaro TRANSFORMERS Special Edition’s V6 engine consumes an EPA-rated 29 highway mpg. The Camaro also features Bluetooth phone connectivity, USB connectivity, XM Satellite Radio and OnStar coupled with TRANSFORMERS design cues.
The 3.6-liter V6 Camaro comes with variable valve timing to optimize the performance and fuel economy, producing SAE-certified 304 hp (227 kW) and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of maximum torque.
The Camaro TRANSFORMERS Special Edition can be ordered as either a Rally Yellow LT or SS model. The RS appearance package meanwhile is optional.
The Camaro comes with a standard 6-speed manual transmission but a Hydra-Matic 6L50 electronically controlled 6-speed automatic is also available.
The high-performance Camaro SS is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The Camaro SS with a TR6060 six-speed manual transmission receives the LS3 engine that produces SAE-certified 426 hp (318 kW) and 569 Nm (420 lb-ft) of maximum torque.
As for the Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission-equipped SS model, L99 V8 engine is used which is based on the LS3 but comes with GM’s fuel-saving Active Fuel Management. This model produces SAE-certified 400 hp (298 kW) and 556 Nm (410 lb-ft) of maximum torque.
Other features of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro TRANSFORMERS Special Edition includes:
- AUTOBOT shield on the driver and passenger side panels
- AUTOBOT shield on each of the four wheel’s center cap
- AUTOBOT shield embroidered on interior center console
- “TRANSFORMERS” logo on driver and passenger doors’ sill plates
- “TRANSFORMERS” logo embedded into the hood rally stripes
- High-gloss black center rally stripe package
- Manufacturer’s suggested retail price of package: $995
