Audi R8 DTM Safety Car

Audi has unveiled the supercar R8 that will be used as the official DTM safety car for the first time and as a racing taxi as well at the Norisring Speed Weekend in Nuremberg.

Audi’s wholly owned subsidiary, quattro GmbH, prepared the two 420 hp mid-engine Audi R8 at the Neckarsulm plant and handed over to the German Motorsport Association (DMSB).

There were not many modifications required, though, because the R8 possesses the genes of a perfect sports car,” says Werner Frowein, managing director of quattro GmbH.
