Autodelta has officially unveiled the Autodelta Alfa Romeo159 J4 2.2 C which has become the third member of the exclusive bespoke J-series range, joining the Brera J5 3.2 C and Spider J6 3.2 C in the Autodelta line-up after 18 months of intensive research and development. Booking for the high performance sports saloon starts on 1 July 2008.
The Autodelta 159 J4 2.2 C (C denoting “Compressore”) is powered by a supercharged Alfa Romeo’s impressive 2.2 JTS direct injection petrol engine, the first production application of forced induction to this robust engine. Maximum power has increase from 185 bhp to 245 bhp while the torque has also increase from 230 Nm to 290 Nm with the installation of Rotrex C30-74 supercharger. The car is also fitted with a completely new aluminium inlet manifold as the factory OE plastic unit isn’t able to operate with the 0.65 bar boost level which the Rotrex C30-74 unit produces.
To improve combustion efficiency, Autodelta engineers’ have adopted cutting-edge NGK Iridium IX spark plugs as OE for the all round advancements they offer and specifically because a colder heat range spark plug was necessary.
The Autodelta 159 J4 2.2 C also features reprogrammed ECU, a limited slip differential (LSD) for safer acceleration and cornering, uprated brake discs and new special compounds brake pads, new exhaust system consists of stainless steel silencers and Autodelta ‘trademark’ quad oval tail pipe exits and OZ Botticelli HLT 19-inch wheels wrapped in 245/35 ZR19 XL latest Dunlop ultra high performance tires for optimal grip.
As for the aerodynamic styling kit, the J4 2.2 C features front splitter, rear apron and side skirts, with the front and rear apron sections designed to fit the standard bumpers of the production Alfa 159.
