Aston Martin Vantage GT2
January 6, 2008 | 2 Comments

The new Aston Martin Vantage GT2 first impression image was recently introduced by Aston Martin Racing and it is based on the Aston Martin Vantage road car which is powered by a V8 engine.
With the introduction of the Aston Martin Vantage GT2, Aston Martin will be the only car manufacturer that has cars in every GT racing category i.e. the GT1 – DBR9; GT2 – Vantage GT2; GT3 – DBRS9; GT4 – Vantage N24.
It was reported that the Aston Martin Vantage GT2 could run on either standard race fuel or E85 bio-ethanol (where regulations allow). The engine that runs with E85 shouldn’t be a problem to Aston Martin because they manage to convert a standard DBRS9 to run on E85 in 2007.

Thanks to our experience with the DBRS9, we have been able to develop a bio-ethanol fuelled version, which will be eligible to compete in an increasing number of series now accommodating this greener fuel, including the American Le Mans Series.”

Aston Martin Sold for $848 million by Ford
March 18, 2007 | 1 Comment
To help with it’s Turaround, Ford Motor Co. has sold a controlling stake in the Aston Martin brand to racing mogul David Richards, John Sinders and Investment Dar and Adeem Investment Co. an international companies based in Kuwait for $848 million. The actual values of Aston Martin is at $925 million whereby Ford still keep a $77 million stake in the company..
David Richard is founder and chairman of Prodrive, a racing and automotive technology company that have long-standing ties with Aston Martin. Meanwhile John Sinders is an Aston Martin collector, enthusiast and racing backer. Aston Martin, by the way, is the sports car brand used in almost all James Bond movie.
I thought it was only Proton who faces this kind of problem but it looks like a giant autmotive company like Ford face similar problem. Maybe they should learn from their Japanese counterparts ![]()
