Rockstar AEM Scion tC Drift Car

Scion has unveiled its latest drift car, the Rockstar AEM Scion tC which is driven by Tanner Foust for this year’s Formula Drift season. Foust is known for his work as the stunt driver for movies such as “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift”, “The Bourne Ultimatum” and “The Dukes of Hazzard”. He was also supposed to be one of the presenters in the scrapped American Top Gear.

The Scion tC has shares a common platform with the JDM Toyota Avensisfour-wheel drive and the the Caldina all-wheel drive.

Scion xD Release Series 1.0 Limited Edition

Scion has released the xD Release Series 1.0 (xD RS 1.0), the third limited-production from Scion. The Scion xD Release Series 1.0 Limited Edition will be available at the dealer showrooms beginning in June 2008.

Only 2,000 units of the Scion xD RS 1.0 will be built and will carry the a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $1,999 over the base price of the manual transmission xD which is at $14,550 while the automatic transmission xD is at $15,350.

RS*R Scion tC in Formula Drift

Scion has announced that it will participate in the Formula Drift this year with its rear wheel drive RS*R Scion tC which is based on Scion’s most popular model, the tC sports coupe.

The factory built front-wheel drive tC converted to a drifting rear-wheel drive by RS*R, acclaimed exhaust and suspension manufacturer. The conversion made possible due to its similarity with Toyota’s Japanese market Avensis four-wheel drive and Caldina all-wheel drive platform. RS*R changed the stock transverse 2AZ-FE 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine configuration to a longitudinal setup in order to drive power, through the transmission and drive shaft, directly to the rear wheels.

Scion tC RS 4.0

The Scion tC RS 4.0, the second limited-production Scion for 2008, will be displayed at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show. The car will hit the dealer showrooms beginning in March.

At the exterior, the 2008 tC RS 4.0 features Galactic Gray Mica exterior paint, a DAMD body kit and upper grille and a color-keyed rear spoiler.

Meanwhile, at the interior, the Scion tC RS 4.0 features gray and black Alcantara seats, “tC RS 4.0″ embroidered on the front and rear seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a black leather and dark wood RAZO shift knob.

There will be only 2,300 units of the tC RS 4.0 to be built and it will carry a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $2,770 over the base price of the tC. A base MSRP of $17,000 for the manual transmission tC, while the MSRP of $17,800 for the automatic transmission model. The color-keyed spoiler has an MSRP of $285, not including installation.
