The race between the Lamborghini Reventon and the Panavia Tornado jet fighter (A200-A) was held at the Ghedi (Brescia) military airport. The race was held on a 3000 meter runaway.
The Reventon was ahead in the first leg of the race, but in the last few meters, the Tornado caught up, taking off and flying over the Reventon which was at the speed of over 340 km/h.
The Lamborghini Reventon was designed by the Centro Stile Lamborghini with close collaboration with Lamborghini’s R&D management. The design was inpired by the world’s fastest aircraft in modern aviation.
The Lamborghini Reventon made its debut at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show in September and won the “Most Beautiful Automobile in the World 2007” award this month in the special models category.
Lamborghini only built 20 units of the Reventon and already sold out for a price tag of 1 million euros plus taxes.
