The latest edition of the world’s fastest Lotus, the 2007-spec Lotus Exige GT3, is making its debut at the 2008 Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix.
It’s based on the European race car that competed in the FIA GT3 category which is fitted with extreme aerodynamic aids and a highly developed 1.8-liter engine found in the Exige S road car.
All the body parts of the Lotus Exige GT3 is made of lightweight ZPREG carbon fibre using an innovative mould-making process that features room temperature curing rather than an oven. The GT3 also uses water-to-air intercooler, a change from the previous air-to-air intercooler.
The Lotus Exige GT3 is powered by a retuned 1.8-liter VVTL-I 4-cylinder Toyota 2ZZ-GE engine producing 261kW and 305 Nm of torque.
The car will be driven by Angelo Lazaris during the GT Championship, supporting the 2008 Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix.
