The Mitsubishi Concept-ZT (possibly the new Mitsubishi Galant) will be powered with a newly developed 2.2-liter 4-cylinder DOHC, 16-valve with VD (Variable Diffuser)/VG (Variable Geometry) clean turbodiesel engine with common-rail direct fuel injection (piezoelectric injector) that produces a maximum output of 140 kW (188 hp) and maximum torque of 400 Nm.
The engine is mated to Mitsubishi’s new Twin Clutch SST, which delivers superior power transmission efficiency that is smooth, responsive, effortless power and acceleration both on the highway or in urban areas with good fuel economy. The S-AWC system combines front E-LSD (Electric control – Limited Slip Differential), ABS and ASC with the 4WD electronic control system also used in Outlander and Delica D:5.
The Mitsubishi Concept-ZT is designed with a lower centre of gravity, which is more stable and also gives the sedan a more sporty look.
The chassis is built with the aluminium space frame structure which combines aluminium extrusion and aluminium die casting, that will give the body greater strength and rigidity and also contribute to weight reduction and crashworthiness.
The Mitsubishi Concept-ZT will also come with cool safety features such as the Pre-crash Safety System. The system uses millimetre-length radar waves which could detect cars far ahead as well as obstacles in the adjacent lane. If the objects near the car are too close and there is danger of a collision, it warns the driver to take action. If the system determines that the possibility of a collision is nevertheless quite high, it pretensions seat belts and activates crash-restraint seat cushions to increase passenger restraint, and initiates emergency braking to reduce the impact of an imminent collision.
Other safety features are Lane-Drift Warning System which consists of a front camera, steering angle sensor, speed sensor, yaw rate sensor and ECU that will warn the driver, and adds steering torque in the direction so the car stays within the lane.
Apart from that the Pop-Up Hood system will pop up the hood before the person’s head strikes the hood, acting as a buffer and minimizing injury to the head if the car should hit a pedestrian.
With the New All-Around Multi-Monitors, the driver could see the situation all around the car as seen from the top.
The Mitsubishi Concept-ZT will also come with a Parking Assistance System whereby a distance sensor is embedded in the bumper which could assess the space available for parking. The system will automatically manoeuvre the steering wheels while the driver just have to control braking if parking is possible.
The Mitsubishi Concept-ZT will make it debut at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show.

Hmmm…. my car is Mitsu Galant 1997 year.
I think new Galant (2005-2009) looks too much gentle. Head lights are… hmmm… that wasn’t good idea to create such a design. He lost the soul of old galant design.
C-ZT:
New Concept-ZT car is going back on good way. “Comfort Wildcat” is returning. I missed such one. This one will bring respect again.
Hope Mitsu will create a car well protected from rust. Also suspension needs to be designed carefully. Rust and suspension are 2 things that can bring ruination to the cars opinion no matter how perfect it will works.
Inside. A little too much like nissan combined with ford. Not good. Too sharp design. Front seats like from old-american cars. I think Mitsu designers should do a little work on it.
