Finally Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has officially unveiled the highly anticipated Nissan GT-R SpecV after all the speculations and spy photos today. The Nissan GT-R SpecV will go on sale throughout Japan on 2 February 2009 at seven specially selected Nissan dealers.
The GT-R SpecV is priced at 15,750,000 yen (including consumption tax) and is targeted for car enthusiasts who want a street-legal race car.
The significant engine modification to enhance the performance of the SpecV is the installation of a new high gear boost control device that momentarily increases boost of the 3.8-liter V6 engine’s twin turbochargers for greater torque in the intermediate-to-high speed ranges. The control device also allows the engine to operate at a lower speed for improved fuel economy.
The Nissan GT-R SpecV also comes with a titanium-coated exhaust system, carbon-ceramic brakes to improve the braking performance and an exclusive suspension system.
At the exterior, the Nissan GT-R SpecV features a new carbon fiber rear spoiler, carbon fiber grille and carbon fiber brake ducts and comes with an exclusive Ultimate Black Opal (RP) body color.
The SpecV stands on NISMO (Nissan Motorsports International) lightweight, racing-style forged aluminum wheels.
Inside, the SpecV features unique two-seat interior where the rear seats from the stock GT-R have been removed to reduce the weight. The car is equipped with special Recaro carbon fiber bucket seats, carbon fiber insets on the rear center storage box, instrument panel and other trim areas.
