Proto Motors first revealed the Spirra sports car in year 2005 but in early 2007, Oullim Motors of Korea bought over Proto Motors and decided to boost the power of the Spirra. The new Spirra was presented last week at the 2008 Beijing Motor Show.

The new Spirra is now powered by a 2.7 liter twin-turbo V6 engine producing 400 hp and 355 Nm of torque to replace the existing supercharged 2.5 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine.

With the new engine, the Spirra clocked 4.8 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h with the top speed of 305 km/h.

Apart from the above, Oullim has also produced a race version, the Spirra GT270, which is powered by a 2.7 liter twin turbo producing 600 hp. A drag version, Spirra GT460, meanwhile is fitted with both supercharger and a turbo to deliver around 700 hp.

The new Spirra uses a carbon fiber body covering the space-frame chassis and it’s a mid-engined vehicle with rear-drive layout.

Oullim is targeting to sale the Spirra for US$100,000 and 100 units are expected to be sold this year and subsequently 300 units by next year.

Considering that Spiira is Korea’s first supercars then it’s more than great and might offer a strong competition.
