Proton Persona Envy

I found few great pictures of the limited edition of the Proton Persona from e-kereta.com. It is called Proton Persona Envy. I guess the specs will be more or less the same as the standard version where it’s powered by the 1.6 liter normally aspirated Campro engine.

I’m not sure if the Envy is street legal though with all the tinted glasses and the darkened taillight.

I wish Proton will develop a turbocharged engine for future Proton cars. I might consider to buy Proton car again :-)

Man looks like a cross between a mazda 3 and a Gen 2.

Abaang, right now Turbo isn’t the issue. The crash safety, tensile strength, and QC need to be worked on. Only after the car is sturdy and has a strong chassis, can we think about turbocharging/ thowing in variable valve timing for the engine /V8 etc.

Just my 2 pennies worth.

You are right there Felipe. I think they are working on the QC now. The materials, accessories and installation on the Persona is a bit better than Gen 2 now. A bit la..At least they are on the right track…I bet if they come up with turbocharged engine…they’ll improve on the structure itself..If they don’t, the R&D department should just “Go Fly Kite”..hahaha

I think Proton cars are good in there category and price compare to other cars I tried the Hyundai cars befor and Proton cars quality and safty is to much beter the only test made for Proton cars in Europe was carried out at 2002 for the first Impian car to Europe and It got around 4 stars out of 5 for the first test and passed the test needed to go threw europe market and you can notice that they did not try to test it again after any improve from prton side to increse it’s safety specs. although they make this tests periodicaly for other manufacurer.
We should be aproud that My could produce a complete car it self.

Honestly i just want to say congratulations for the revolution of proton persona. It’s look sporty and confortable…but i suggest this proton persona envy need to add something that can make it more power full and more sporty like the other brand like BMW,TOYOTA,NISSAN and MER’S..

Hope that this era of revolution can approved the way to make proton go one step closer to success….

I have tried persona recently, 1st gear perform well, but the 2nd – 3rd gear at 2000~3000 rpm shown low perfomance. The sound proof not bad.

Needed to test up the IAFM and CPS model, cause it shown the torque had imrpoved.

well..i’m using persona 1.6 m_line wif Iafm.i not that much satisfy with it.body is really nice.but performence a bit low.such as pick up,engine sounds.over all it ok 4 the price Rm50,300.

I own a Persona M-Line. Acutally, car is ok except for these small issues.
1. Don’t like the flapping sound from the IAFM. Anyone can share how to reduce this sound?
2. Petrol consumption seems high. A full tank can only last me about 5 days and my average travelling per day is about 40km/day.
3. Body paint is thin and britlle. Paint chips off easily.
4. Pick up is a bit slow especially when in 2nd and 3rd gear.

Other than that, it is ok. Like the car. Any comments?

Looks like the car was renamed to Persona SE. I own one. About petrol consumption, after driving almost 4000km, I can do 200km after using half tank (there’s lots of air still in the tank though). My body paint’s still fine. I tested the acceleration when going past a toll revving the engine high, and it’s like what you said. Being the heaviest Persona using the same 110hp engine doesn’t help.

i prefer waja than persona..but nowadays the price of waja is so expensive..but my choice is persona because i find that Persona can be modified just what i hv on my mind..prefer white colour..then few add up & colour paint.especially the rims..but i really luv Waja..
