There were two leaked images of the new Renault Megane R26 R emerged on the internet and according to some reports, the Megane R26 R is powered by the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 225 hp that powered the Renault Megane R26.
Other features include new carbon fiber hood, lightweight titanium alloy dual exhaust, red 18-inch wheels, high performance suspension system, a roll cage and carbon fiber seats at the interior.
The weight of the R26 R has been reduced to 1,235 kg, 125 kg lighter than the Megane R26 and is equipped with a limited-slip differential. It clocked less than 6 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h.
The Renault Megane R26 R is said to be priced at £24,000 and production will begin somewhere in November 2008. More information after its official release at the London Motor Show at the end of July 2008.
