Renntech, tuning specialist for Mercedes-Benz and AMG vehicles from Florida, has tuned the Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG Black Series to produce an output higher than the already powerful 507 hp (373 kW) and 630 Nm (465lb-ft) CLK 63 AMG.
The 6.2-liter V8 AMG engine is fitted with a reprogrammed ECU, long tube headers and a high flow exhaust system to produce 550 hp (410 kW), an increase of 43 hp and an increase in torque by 60 to 80 Nm. With the increase of power, the Renntech Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG Black Series accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 4 seconds with the top speed of more than 300 km/h (186 mph).
The Renntech Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG Black Series is also fitted with a sport suspension system which lower the car by ¾ inch with carbon fiber strut braces to both the front and the rear along with fully-adjustable camber bushings at all four corners which enhance mechanical grip in fast corner. The Renntech aerodynamic kit for the AMG Black Series features a front splitter, a rear diffuser and a carbon fiber rear wing.
Real-world performance is all about torque, not so much about a peak horsepower number at very high rpm,” explains Hartmut Feyhl, company founder. “It can be very easy to build high rpm horsepower, but to get instant throttle response and mid-range acceleration it is more difficult, and this is where customers really want to feel that improvement.
