Ronn Motor Company, a Texas based car maker has released details of its Scorpion concept project. The Ronn Scorpion Concept is a sports car powered by an Acura V6 engine mated to a Hydrogen-on-demand system to reduce fuel consumption.
130 octane Hydrogen is introduced through the air intake manifold and blended with petrol at a ratio of 30-40 % hydrogen. The Acura engine under the hood is the 3.5-liter V6 V-Tech, Type S taken from the 2008 TL TypeS mated to a close ratio 6-speed transmission producing 450 hp with optional twin turbo. Fuel consumption is expected at 40 mpg.
The Scorpion Concept will come with a carbon fiber body manufactured by metalcrafters.com, mounted on a racing-derived chrome-moly chassis. The car will be priced at $150,000 and only 200 units will be produced during the first year production. First deliveries will begin on last quarter of 2008.
