The first time we see the S5S Raptor was last month from its sketch and before its debut at the 2008 New York Auto Show, some official images of the Saleen S5S Raptor were revealed.
The 2-seater car with aluminum chassis which runs on E85 ethanol fuel was developed by Saleen and specialty builder ASC.
The Saleen S5S Raptor is powered by a 5.0-liter supercharged engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission producing 650 bhp and 630 lb-ft of torque. The S5S Raptor clocked 3.2 seconds from 0 to 60 mph with the top speed of more than 200 mph.
The Raptor is fitted with 20-inch wheels wrapped with 275/35ZR20s tires at the front and 315/35ZR20s at the rear.
It’s also reported that the Raptor will come with a paddle-shifting sequential gearbox after 2010 for quicker gear shift. The Saleen S5S Raptor is priced at $185,000.
