SPI SLEDGEHAMMER Porsche 997

Switzer Performance Innovations (SPI), a renowned builder of exhaust and bolt-on performance products for Porsche 996 and 997 in Oberlin, Ohio, has unveiled its conversion package for the Porsche 997 known as the SLEDGEHAMMER.

The SPI SLEDGEHAMMER twin-turbo Porsche 997 was developed by Tym Switzer and his crew at SPI in Oberlin. The SLEDGEHAMMER, named after a candid comment from an SPI tech, is a bolt-on performance package that delivers over 850 all-wheel hp on race fuel which is over 1,000 hp at the crank.

The SPI SLEDGEHAMMER Porsche 997 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in the mid-2 seconds, 60 to 130 mph in less than 5 seconds and a quarter mile in 9.8 seconds with the top speed of 145 mph.

The increase of performance is made possible with the ECU tuning, custom headers and sport exhaust, SPI MONSTER intercooler package and SPI-tuned GT30R turbos.
