The maker of Subaru automobiles, Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI), has launched the Subaru Impreza WRX A-Line which is already available for sale in Japan. The will also be available in a new “Satin White Pearl” body color.
The Subaru Impreza WRX A-Line is powered by a Horizontally-Opposed 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve 2.5-liter turbocharged Boxer engine mated to a 5 Speed Automatic Transmission with SPORTSHIFT (SPORTSHIFT E-5AT) but still retain the basic component such as the chassis and the body of the WRX STI.
The Impreza WRX A-Line produces 221 kW (300 PS) at 6,200 rpm and 350 Nm (35.7 kgf.m) of maximum torque between 2,800 and 6,000 rpm.
The engine is equipped with a single scroll turbocharger to produce a flat torque from the low and mid-rev range to high rev-range. Apart from that, the WRX A-Line is also equipped with Dual Active Valve Control System (AVCS) to control continuously valve timing on both intake and exhaust valve to improve the low and mid-range torque, high-rev range output and environmental friendliness. The intake of the air stream is controlled by Tumble Generation Valve (TGV) to generate high combustion efficiency.
Other features include SI-Drive (Subaru Intelligent Drive) to enable drivers to choose 3 different engine mappings, paddle shift, Downshift Blipping Control system where when the drivers down-shifting, the automatic transmission control unit interacts with the engine management system and increases engine revolutions instantly and to the exact required setting, VTD (Variable Torque Distribution)-AWD system which controls the torque distribution ratio between the front and rear axles, VDC (Vehicle Dynamics Control) System and 17-inches ventilated dual piston disk brakes at the front and 16-inches ventilated disk brakes for the rear.
Inside, the Subaru Impreza WRX A-Line features 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, soft leather door trim with silver stitched and optional leather seats and seat heating for the front seats.
