There will be another concept car to hit the 2008 Tokyo Auto Salon from Honda and it is the Honda Civic Type-R Modulo Concept. The other concept from Modulo is the Honda Inspire Modulo Concept.
The Honda Civic Type-R Modulo Concept is a street-legal, track-ready version of the Civic Type-R sedan and features 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 225/35 R19 tires, clear taillights and wing type rear spoiler at the exterior.

2007 Honda JDM Civic Type R Review

Honda Civic Type R is a sports edition of the Civic with enhanced driving performance. The new Civic Type R is already available in Japan and will not be available in other markets.
It comes equipped with a specially tuned 2.0-liter normally aspirated (NA) engine with a 6-speed manual transmission. It is also lighter, more rigid body shell and comes with specially tuned suspension, 18-inch tires and large 17-inch front disc brakes. The type R is also more aerodynamic and look more aggressive with the wide and low form. Front bucket seats, a unique instrument panel and other performance accessories contribute to an easier and more responsive drive.

Honda Civic Type R At 2006 Paris Motor Show

The new Type R is powered by a 201-horsepower 2.0-liter DOHC i-VTEC with drive-by-wire throttle that delivers maximum power output at 8000 rpm.

The Type R is a 3-door hatchback, based on the Civic 5-door hatchback which provides the ideal platform for a high-performance version. The suspension is based on the Type S and further tuned, including lowering the ride height by 15 mm, adding a quicker steering ratio and fitting 225/40ZR18 wheels and tires.

The Type R features bold styling is that includes deep front spoiler with a larger air intake, triangular fog lights whose shape mirrors the large exhaust tailpipes at the rear and a body-colored rear spoiler that splits the rear tailgate glass. The front brake callipers have Type R logos and a honeycomb mesh grille that replaces the glass panel grille of the Type S.

Interior features include stainless steel door sill inserts, front seats with large black Alcantara bolsters with red stitching and red fabric seat cushions and backs, while the rear seats repeat the same color coordination. The steering wheel is covered in black perforated leather with red stitching and central “H” logo, while the matching gear shift knob with aluminum-finish has a black boot with red stitching. In front of the gear lever is a plaque engraved with the car’s serial number.
