Kicherer CL 60 Coupe Based on Mercedes-Benz CL 600

Kicherer, car tuner from Germany, has released its tuning package known as the CL 60 for the Mercedes-Benz CL 600.

At the exterior, the Kicherer CL 60 features new front bumpers and apron, new rear apron, a modified grille and an integrated rear diffuser. Inside, the CL 60 features Alcantara and carbon fiber trim.

2009 Renault Megane Trophy Race Car

Renault has released the new Megane Trophy that will compete in the 2009 Renault World Series. The World Series was created in 2005 where enthusiasts can compete with their own Renault car.

The 2009 Renault Megane Trophy is based on the new Megane Coupe which is powered by the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s mid-rear 3.5-liter V6 24V engine that produces 360 hp.

Ford will unveil for the first time the new 4-seater Ford Focus Coupe-Cabriolet at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show. The Focus Coupe-Cabriolet will be manufactured at the Bairo plant of Pininfarina

At the exterior, the Ford Focus features new 3-dimensional bonnet design flows harmoniously into the iconic dual-trapezoidal-grille design, chrome upper and lower grille, latest dynamic Focus styling front bumper, lights and front fender.

The Ford Focus Coupe-Cabriolet interior features high quality finishes and hard-wearing materials and ‘binocular’ style instrument cluster with instruments illuminated in red.

Mitsubishi Concept-RA Officially Revealed

Mitsubishi Concept-RA

Mitsubishi unveiled the Mitsubishi Concept-RA at the 2008 NAIAS that was held in Detroit. The details of the Mitsubishi Concept-RA was already reported here earlier.

The Mitsubishi Concept-RA is powered by a new, high output, high-efficiency 2.2-liter 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve turbo diesel engine with MIVEC4. Incorporated in the diesel MIVEC system are valve lift control with low and high-speed cam profiles actuating the intake valves, a Piezoelectric injector, common-rail direct fuel injection system allows the engine to use of a lower static compression ratio, a VD/VG (Variable Diffuser / Variable Geometry) turbocharger whose internal vanes can control airflow over the turbine and compressor surfaces to produce optimum boost characteristics at all times.

The Concept-RA produces a maximum output of 201 hp (150 kW) and maximum torque of 310 ft. lbs. (42.8 kg-m). The new catalytic converter system that combines a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), NOx trap catalyst (NTC) and diesel particulate filter (DPF) technologies ensure the powerplant to comply to Tier 2 Bin 5 emission regulations in the United States.

Lexus LF-A Roadster Revealed at 2008 Detroit Auto Show

2008 Lexus LF-A Roadster

Still remember the Lexus LF-A Sports Car Concept from last year? The engineers and designers at Lexus has created a roadster out of it. The Lexus LF-A Roadster was revealed at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.

To maintain the structure’s strength and rigidity, the LF-A Roadster is based on the sturdy yet lightweight carbon-fiber and aluminum body used for the LF-A Coupe.

Like the coupe, the LF-A Roadster is powered by a 5.0-liter high-revving V10 engine that could produce more than 500 hp with the top speed of more than 200 mph. The engine is mounted in front of the passenger compartment but behind the front-axle centerline in what the LF-A’s engineers refer to as a “front-mid” configuration.

Germany tuning specialist, AC Schnitzer from Aachen, has modified the BMW 135i Coupe which debuted at the Essen Motor Show.

At the exterior, the AC Schnitzer ACS1 3.5i features front spoiler, rear skirt insert, rear wing, rear roof spoiler and AC Schnitzer sports rear silencer including chromed tailtrims in Racing design.

Other features include Type IV “BiColor” rims in size 8.5Jx19″ and wrapped with 225/35R19 tires, AC Schnitzer 3-spoke sports airbag steering wheel, carbon interior including door panels and other accessories.

Steinmetz of Germany, specialize in tuning Opel cars will unveil the Steinmetz GT at the upcoming Essen Motor Show in Germany.

From the images, we can see from the exterior that the Steinmetz features honeycomb front grille and two piece front bumper fascia and new dual tailpipes exhaust.

Mitsubishi Concept-RA

Mitsubishi Concept-RA

Mitsubishi has announced that the Mitsubishi Concept-RA coupe will make its debut at the 2008 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit on January 13.

The Concept-RA will be powered by a new high-output, high-efficiency clean diesel engine and will feature similar system as the Lancer Evolution X in term of the Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) vehicle dynamics control system driveline and the Twin Clutch SST automated manual transmission. Other technology from Mitsubishi such as the Active Yaw Control and Sport ABS are also included.

The Concept-RA’s new MIVEC 2.2-liter 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve diesel engine is fitted with a VD (Variable Diffuser)/VG (Variable Geometry) turbocharger and could produce a maximum output of 201 hp (150kW) and 310ft-lb (420Nm) of torque.

Porsche Carma Concept

The Porsche Carma Concept was designed by 4 fourth year students at the French Design School ISD (Institute Supérieur de Design - Valenciennes, France). The team consists of Germain Baillot, Pierre Fichet Delavault, Julie Dicks and Simon Menu.

The Carma Concept is designed to be an extreme sports car as well as suitable for daily drive. Some of the features include aerodynamic body, internal spoiler at the rear, two Venturi-tubes that increase ground-effect and Porsche’s 6 cylinder boxer engine.
