Another Infiniti vehicle to be marketed in Europe is the new Infiniti G37 Coupe. The wheelbase is the same as the Infiniti G37 Saloon at 2850 mm but it is shorter than the saloon by 100 mm.

The Infiniti G37 Coupe is powered by the same VQ37VHR 3.7L 24-valve twin cam V6 engine that powered the saloon but the engine is combined with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic transmission. The VQ engine produces over 310 PS and over 350 Nm of torque. The VQ37 engine features V-VEL (Variable Valve Event and Lift) technology to optimise efficiency, the balance between power, response, fuel efficiency and emissions.

Infiniti G37 Saloon For Europe Release

Apart from the Infiniti EX37, Europe will also get the Infiniti G37 Saloon. The G37 is also based on the Infiniti or Nissan FM platform where some of the components are similar to the Nissan 350Z and EX37.

The Infiniti G37 Saloon is powered by the same VQ37VHR 3.7L V6 engine that powered the Infiniti EX37 producing over 310 PS and over 350 Nm of torque, mated to the 7-speed automatic transmission.

Infiniti EX37 for European Market

With the launch of the Infiniti brand to Europe, the Infiniti EX37, the world’s first compact coupe crossover, will be launch somewhere in late 2008. The Infiniti EX37 is based on the Infiniti FM platform, similar to Infiniti G37 and G37 Coupe.

The EX37 is powered by a new 3.7-liter twin cam 24 valve V6 version of VQ lightweight aluminum engine family, mated to a new 7-speed automatic transmission, producing over 310 PS and over 350 Nm of torque.

Apart from that, the VQ37 unit also features V-VEL (Variable Valve Event and Lift) technology to optimise efficiency and, in turn, the balance between power, response, fuel efficiency and emissions. The new 7-speed automatic transmission, with the additional forward gear, has a wider spread of ratios which benefits both fuel consumption and drivability.

2008 Infiniti G Coupe

The all new 2008 Infiniti G Coupe will be unveiled at the 2007 New York International Auto Show in April.

“Since the Infiniti Coupe Concept was unveiled last year, there’s been a lot of speculation about the new G Coupe and what it will look like,” said Mark Igo, vice president and general manager of Infiniti. “We’re looking forward to the introduction of the G Coupe and the luxury crossover concept at this year’s New York International Auto Show. It’s still a few months away, but trust me, it’s worth the wait.”
