UK Garage, car tuner from Italy, has presented its upgrade package for the Lotus Exige Mark 1 known as the Extrema.
The UK Garage Lotus Extrema is available in various GM engines with the 2.6-liter PowerTech V8 engine with 360 hp as the entry level followed by the 2.8-liter V8 PowerTech V8 engine producing 450 hp (331 kW) or a 3.4-liter PowerTech V8 engine producing 560 hp (412 kW). By using the PowerTech engine, the total weight of the car doesn’t exceed 750 kg.
Other engine options are GM’s 2.8-liter V6 turbo that could produce 300 hp (221 kW) 0r 350 hp (257 kW) which increases the weight of the car to 850 kg, the Chevrolet Corvette LS3 that produces 420 hp (309 kW) or 500 hp (368 kW) that increases the weight to 970 kg, the Corvette LS7 that produces 513 hp (377 kW) or the LS9 engine found in the Corvette ZR1 that produces 647 hp (476 kW) which increases the weight to 1,000 kg.
The engines are mated to either a manual or a sequential transmission system and the UK Garage Lotus Extrema able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h in 7 seconds with the top speed of 320 km/h.
The chassis of the Lotus Extrema is made of aluminum and customers have the option to equipped the vehicle with either fibreglass or kevlar-carbon composite body. The body of the Extrema has been widened to accommodate bigger wheels and tires and also lengthened by 20 cm to accommodate the GM engines.
The vehicle is also fitted with Koni fully adjustable suspension system and AP Racing brake callipers. The price for the UK Garage Lotus Extrema starts at €66,000 including taxes for the baseline model while the road-legal version is available at an additional cost.
